Dr. Will Noel, Conservator of Manuscripts for the Walters Art Museum, poses with a multi spectral image of a page of writings by Archimedes, that appear in red, at the Walters Art Museum January 12, 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Noel is taking part in deciphering the goat skin pages of the 1,000-year-old book in an effort to retrieve the original writings of the Archimedes Palimpsest which has had its pages scraped clean and reused through history.
